Thermal Spray technology is a well-known way of surface protection and it is widely used in many industries, especially for workshop automated application.

The same holds true for one of thermal spray application method, which is derived from arch welding. i.e. High Velocity Twin Wire Arch Spray (HVTWAS). The principle of this method is melting two spray wires with elecric arch and subsequent transport of molten atomized particles to the target surface by compressed air under high velocity.  

For the use in power generation industry, specifically for the protection of in-service power boiler pressure parts from corrosion and erosion, the spray technology represents an efective alternative to other maintenance approaches, such as

  • steel surface protection by Inconel welding overlay,
  • simple exchange of wornout parts with new parts.

In comparison with those service philosophies the use of the on-site thermal spray application brings our clients and their maintenance budgets great advantages, especially:

  • lower costs
  • faster installation
  • no negative side effects on existing installations (decrease of heat transfer, higher internal stress, shape deformations, increase of weight, etc.)
